Why buying the real deal (sometimes) is better – GHD vs CHEAPIE

I recently won a GHD styler and gave away my cheapie straightener – and this is why I will never ever buy a cheap straightener again.

I sat for an hour to straighten my hair with the cheapie and it didn’t make my hair perfectly straight (or flat).  The straightener also took some time to warm up. I tried to use it on special occasions only to spare my hair the damage.

After trying out the GHD, I was pleasantly surprised.  Not only did the GHD warm up in less than a minute, it beeped when it was ready to be used. My frizzy curls just gave up at the onslaught and each strand only had to be run through once. It was heavenly and I have used it a number of times in 2 weeks.

GHD Cheapie
  • Warms up in less than a minute
  • Beeps when ready
  • Tames frizz
  • Comes with a heat mat
  • I hear crickets
  • It’s a guessing game
  • Attempts to tame frizz
  • You are on your own
