The first 8 years of my life I spent in the Bosveld, then we moved. It has been some time since I have been back to Lephalale area, 2 years to be exact. This time was maybe not the best of circumstances, but I still feel at home here.
We stayed in a house at the end of a road, round a mountain, on a river called Vawter. It was beautiful and quiet – just what my family needed.
The house is a “simple log cabin on stilts” overlooking the Mogol river with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and an outside common room with braai. The nearest neighbours you don’t hear or see. We spotted a few kudus from the balcony and even crossed the river.
The drive to and from this house was a bit of an ordeal with a little hatchback, but we survived.
I only spend R1200 for the house per night and loved the location and facilities.
